Overloading can be a problem with any sort of power distribution adaptor. This is especially likely if multiple appliances with heating elements, such as electric room heaters or benchtop cooking appliances like electric frying pans are plugged into a power strip or similar device.

The micro controller of socket outlet can detect the load currents and it will cut off the power when the load currents reach over1 2Amperes, and the socket outlet’s accuracy is as good as the clamp meter. So the socket outlet is an incredibly simple solution to a potentially deadly problem.
Reset
Press the reset button for 1-2 sec, then the module will be reset and recover the power supply easily.
